Meet the members of our Board.

PRESIDENT

Sheri Atkinson

Sheri Atkinson is the Founder and President of Classical Christian Home Educators. She has been a homeschooling parent since 1996 and began following the classical approach to homeschooling in 1998, when she and her husband, David, were introduced to classical education at a homeschool conference. At that time they both knew that God had led them to classical education. In her zeal to know other classical educators, CCHE was born.

Sheri met David Atkinson while living in Hawaii and they were married four months later. They have two beautiful daughters, one cat and one big dog.

Sheri leads the Roseville CCHE monthly support group meetings, conducts periodic “Introduction to Classical Education” meetings, and is a conference speaker.

VICE-PRESIDENT/TREASURER

David Atkinson, CPA

David Atkinson is a CPA and Financial Analyst at EMF Broadcasting, the parent company of the K-LOVE and Air 1 radio networks. After spending over 6 years in the Navy--where he met Sheri while stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii--he moved back to the mainland to attend California State University, Chico. David received his bachelors degree in Business with an option in Accounting, and from there he spent two years working at the international CPA firm of Price-Waterhouse LLP.

David felt called by the Lord to use his skills in a Christian ministry and began working with K-LOVE Radio in 1997. In 2006 David received a masters degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.

SECRETARY

Amy Harless

Amy is the facilitator for Roseville CCHE's Great Books group where parents get together to discuss their pursuit of a classical education. Amy wants her children to have a classical education that trains them to think and gives them the tools to measure truth. "And how much better can I give them a classical education when I am classically educated myself?" Amy asks.

Amy is married and has two children who are 10 and 7 years of age. Amy and her husband have educated their children classically at home since the beginning of their education. Amy began with The Well-Trained Mind but has adapted her educational pursuits as she learns more about classical education. "It is a fantastic journey and we are blessed that God has led us to it."

DIRECTOR

Michael Voytek

Rev. Michael Voytek is pastor of Providence Reformed Church in Lodi, California. After spending over 18 years working in Information Systems for various banking and government organizations, he completed a Masters of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary in California. Since his ordination into the ministry in 1998, he has served as pastor of two RCUS churches (Reformed Church in the United States). Currently he is also serving as Adjunct Professor of Old Testament at City Seminary of Sacramento.

Rev. Voytek is married to the former Rebecca Dixon. They have been homeschooling their five children since 1989, their three oldest children have graduated from home school and are now attending college.

DIRECTOR

Martin Fenn

Martin Fenn is a small business owner in Loomis, California. After working with Operation Mobilization in London, England, Marty's interests were focused on serving and supporting world evangelism. He returned to California and joined a construction partnership designed to support world missions. Marty met his future wife on one particular assignment in Northern Wales, at a missions training college.

Marty is married to the former Nanette Hawkins. They have been homeschooling since 1996. They have four children who have all been to Israel and walked where Jesus walked.
